Special needs babies require specific, yet gentle care that includes performing vital medical procedures. This newborn-sized baby allows healthcare facilities and medical personnel to train special procedures and develop a care plan for special needs babies. The Special Needs Baby has been developed for a variety of educational needs, including beginning nursing students. Medical devices that may be used include a tracheostomy tube and suction catheter, a gastrostomy tube, a nasogastric tube, and a urethral catheter. Other general care measures that can be practiced include bathing, diaper changes, and various dressing changes. Carrying bag included. Tracheostomy and gastrostomy tubes are not included.

Procedures that can be practiced include:
- Tracheostomy care (insertion and suction) - 3 mm size
- Gastrostomy care (washing and probing) - size 14 FR
- Nasogastric care (insertion, lavage, catheterization and suction) - size 8 FR or smaller
- Urethral catheterization (insertion, insertion and care) - 8 FR size
- Colostomy stoma (for primary care purposes only)
