Patient positioning is important for patients who, due to their medical condition, are forced to lie in bed for extended periods of time. With the help of support pillows and rollers, a sick person is not only provided with comfort, a sense of security, pain is reduced, but also bedsores that are difficult to heal are avoided.
Positioning devices are used to prevent or treat sores in individual parts of the body.
- Neck pads are designed to change the position of the patient's body to protect against bedsores: to support and relieve pressure from the head and neck when the patient is lying or sitting.
- Reversing pads are used for side-facing patients (two or more pads can be used at a time).
- Positioning rollers are designed to turn patients and change position during long-term treatment and care. Adapted for patients at risk of ulceration. The roller is suitable for use in physiotherapy and massage.
- The calf supports are designed to change the position of the patient's body to prevent sores in the legs.
- Heel guards are designed to protect patients' heels from developing sores.
Positioning agents can usually be machine washed, tumble dried, disinfected with alcohol disinfectants.
