Professional training simulators realistically simulate and teach proper transurethral bladder catheterisation for both men and women. The pelvic shell is modular, allowing the use of both male and female genital inserts, while strictly maintaining the unique anatomical position of each. The innovative bladder is designed to accommodate these different anatomies and to provide a continuous urethral path from the slit to the bladder neck. Both anatomical inserts are made of high quality materials that closely mimic real human tissue in look and feel, while remaining strong and durable.
The shape of the bladder is specifically designed to avoid unrealistic resistance in existing catheterisation trainers. This helps to prevent trainees from trying to "feel" the back of the bladder to correctly assess the depth of insertion. The bladder also uses a new type of valve that prevents unnatural resistance as the catheter enters the bladder. The bladder is also transparent so the student can see the position and depth of the catheter. This is an excellent training aid for the use of foley catheters as the user can actually observe how the balloon inflates and in what position it is. The bladder is easily connected to the fluid bag, which ensures a natural flow of artificial urine after successful catheterisation. 

The male genital insert features an interchangeable foreskin with ultra-realistic movement for training in retraction, handling and other hygiene procedures. The model has the most realistic urethra of any catheterisation trainer currently on the market. All four urethral zones
are depicted with appropriate anatomical shape and resistance during catheterisation. A strap is also included which, when attached, will simulate prostate stricture due to BPH or prostate cancer. This module is designed to teach and demonstrate to students exactly why it is important to use a larger or stiffer catheter in a given situation.
The female genital insert is designed to separate the flexible labia so that the urethral cavity can be located. The female urethral opening is not immediately obvious and is very close to the open vaginal canal, which emphasises the possibility of catheterisation failure. The urethra provides realistic resistance during catheter insertion and creates a realistic sensation. 

This learning simulator is available with both genital inserts or in a male-only or female-only version. The inserts can also be purchased individually so that customers can easily change from the unisex model to the dual-sex version.
